Haulit Equine Refund, Dispute & Escrow Policy

1. Purpose
This policy governs refund eligibility, escrow fund management, and dispute resolution between Horse Owners (“Customers”) and Haulers (“Drivers”) using the Haulit Equine platform. It works in conjunction with the Terms of Service and Stripe Express payout system.
2. Escrow System
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe Express.
- Customer funds are held in escrow from the time a haul is accepted until the driver confirms “Delivered.”
- Funds are released to the driver within 1–2 business days following successful delivery verification.
- Delivery confirmation requires GPS verification at drop-off and digital confirmation (photo/video or signature) logged through the app.
3. Refund Eligibility
Refunds are available in the following cases:
Trip canceled before driver departs for pickup-100% refund (less payment-processing fees, if any).
Trip canceled after driver departure but before pickup-Refund minus verified travel expenses (fuel, tolls, time).
Trip canceled after pickup or once travel begins-No refund, unless both parties mutually agree.
Horse illness or emergency preventing haul-Refund minus driver’s travel costs to pickup.
Driver cancellation (mechanical or personal)-100% refund to customer.
Platform or payment error-100% refund upon verification.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
4. Disputes
If a dispute arises (e.g., horse condition, delay, delivery disagreement), users must first attempt resolution through in-app chat or support@haulitequine.com.
If unresolved:
1. Haulit Equine’s support team reviews GPS data, photos, and documentation.
2. A decision is made within 7 business days.
3. If either party disagrees, the dispute may proceed to binding arbitration under the AAA per the Terms of Service.
5. Fraud & Misconduct
Haulit Equine reserves the right to:
- Deny refunds where fraudulent or abusive refund requests are suspected.
- Temporarily hold escrow funds during investigations.
- Ban users found to be abusing the refund or payment system.
6. Driver Payment Disputes
Drivers may dispute non-payment or withheld funds by contacting support@haulitequine.com within 10 business days of delivery confirmation. Haulit Equine will review trip logs and GPS data before release of funds.
7. Final Authority
All refund and dispute determinations by Haulit Equine are final once reviewed and documented. Haulit Equine may update this policy periodically to comply with Stripe, DOT, or FMCSA requirements.
